JOB TITLE: School Nurse (Credentialed or RN with Preliminary Credential)
LOCATION: El Monte, CA (District-Level Support / Multiple School Sites)
POSITION TYPE: School-Based | Remainder of 2025-26 School Year & 2026-27 School Year
SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday 8:00 AM - 2:30/3:00 PM
PAY: Negotiable based on experience and credentials
JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a compassionate and dependable School Nurse to support students within a school district in El Monte, CA. This position is open to a Credentialed School Nurse or a Registered Nurse (RN) holding a Preliminary School Nurse Credential. The role will continue for the remainder of the 2025-26 school year with the opportunity to extend into the 2026-27 school year. This is a district-level position that will float between a few school sites, providing nursing support as needed to ensure continuity of care and student health services across the district.
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide direct nursing care to students across multiple school sites

Float between assigned campuses based on district needs

Administer medications and manage health plans per physician and school guidelines

Respond to student illnesses and emergencies

Maintain accurate health records and documentation

Collaborate with district staff, school administrators, teachers, and families

Support district-wide health initiatives and compliance with state and school health regulations

Communicate effectively with parents and school personnel regarding student health needs
REQUIREMENTS:

Valid California School Nurse Credential or Active RN license with a Preliminary School Nurse Credential

CPR/BLS certification (required)

Ability to travel between school sites within the district

School-based experience preferred but not required

Strong communication, organization, and adaptability skills
