School-Based 1:1 RN/LPN - ESY Summer Program
Amergis Educational Staffing is partnered with a school in Chelsea, MA that is currently seeking a skilled and compassionate School-Based 1:1 Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support a student during the Extended School Year (ESY) Summer Program . This is a rewarding opportunity for a nurse who is comfortable providing individualized care and supporting student independence in both school and community settings.

Pay Rate: $45.00-50.00/hour , based on experience

Duration: 5-week ESY program

Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 16 hours per week
Position Overview
The nurse will provide 1:1 nursing support for a high school male student with epilepsy who experiences frequent seizures. For safety, the student wears a protective helmet throughout the day. This role is essential in ensuring the student's health, safety, and participation in both school-based and community-based programming.
Key Responsibilities

Provide 1:1 nursing care and ongoing seizure monitoring

Administer nasal rescue seizure medication as needed
-
Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) , including toileting

Support student safety during classroom instruction and transitions
-
Accompany the student on off-campus vocational outings
-
Collaborate with school staff to ensure continuity of care and safety

Follow all individualized health plans and emergency protocols
Requirements
-
Active RN or LPN license
-
Experience working with students or individuals with seizure disorders preferred
-
Comfort providing ADL support
-
Ability to work independently in a 1:1 role

Willingness to attend off-campus vocational activities

Minimum Requirements:

Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice

Current LPN/LVN license in the state which services are being provided

One year of school nurse experience, preferred

One-year pediatric experience, pre
-
Current CPR if applicable
-
TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
-
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
