The Assistant Nurse Manager of Nursing Operations will cover the Float Pool and the CMU as well as assist with coverage for all units at SMH
Assistant Nurse Manager - Nursing Operations - St. Mary's Hospital
Primary Function/General Purpose of Position
Assists with supervising and coordinating the administrative and operational activities in the assigned areas. Collaborates with interprofessional team to ensure safe and effective care delivery while promoting a culture of excellence.
Essential Job Functions

Leads a team of nurses and clinical support.

Supports managers/directors on larger units

Performs managerial responsibilities 80% of time; works on ground support for frontline staff and assists in direct patient care as needed.

Assists manager/director in planning and supervision of unit/department goals and objectives.

Assists with managers/directors in planning and maintaining department's readiness for regulatory surveyors.

Serves as professional role model, mentor, and clinical resource.

Responsible for personal and professional growth as well as fostering an environment where interdisciplinary team members can contribute to optimal patient outcomes and grow professionally.

Responsible for modeling core culture and safety behaviors to eliminate preventable harm and implement high reliability principles.

Facilitates implementation of change management, performance improvement, and strategic initiatives in assigned areas.

Supports mission and vision of the organization and adheres to BSMH policies.

BSMH nurses are expected to practice and deliver care in accordance with the core concepts and intention of the BSMH Nursing Professional Practice Model.
Licensing/Certification
-
Current RN license in state they are working or covered by compact (required)
-
BLS Basic Life Support (preferred upon hire, must obtain from approved source prior to entering patient care setting)
Certifications required based on the unit(s) that the leader oversees and the requirements for those specific units:

PALS Pediatric Advanced Life Support (preferred)

ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support (preferred)

NRP Neonatal Resuscitation Program (preferred)

TNCC Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (preferred)

ENPC Emergency Nurse Pediatric Course (preferred)

National Board Certification Specialty (preferred)

Nurse Executive Certification or designated specialty certification (preferred)
