Position Overview
The School LPN/LVN is responsible for supporting student health needs within the school environment. This role focuses on identifying and addressing health concerns, promoting general wellness, providing health education, and supporting disease-prevention efforts. The nurse monitors students' physical conditions throughout the school day and refers to appropriate healthcare resources when necessary. All care is delivered within the LPN scope of practice and in compliance with state education codes.
Key Responsibilities

Provide nursing care and health monitoring within the school setting

Assess and respond to student health concerns throughout the school day

Promote wellness and provide health education when appropriate

Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with school and state guidelines

Communicate effectively with school staff, families, and healthcare providers

Support compliance with district health policies and state regulations

Participate in emergency response and safety procedures as needed
Minimum Requirements

Active LPN license in the state of assignment

Complies with all professional standards of nursing practice

One year of school nursing experience preferred

One year of pediatric experience preferred

Must meet all federal, state, and local employment requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older
