Shift Details
- Monday through Friday, primarily 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m
Qualifications
- The candidate must:- Hold a current and unrestricted Alaska license as a Nurse Practitioner under 12 AAC 44.400- Hold a current unrestricted DEA registration authorizing the prescribing of Schedule II, III, IV, and V controlled substances- Have at least two years of family practice or general practice experience- Conduct physical examinations and obtain medical histories- Diagnose medical conditions- Order tests and X-rays- Develop treatment plans and prescribe medications- Perform minor medical procedures- Consult with and refer patients to specialists when authorized- Complete required documentation in the Department's electronic health record- Provide after-hours telephone consultation when scheduled- Pass the Department's background investigation and security clearance- Work onsite at an on-road or off-road Alaska correctional facility- Prior emergency medicine or correctional healthcare experience is preferred.
