Get to Know Your Team:
- UT Health East Texas EMS/AIR 1 has more than 65 ambulances, three active helicopters and one helicopter in reserve strategically located across the region and emergency teams provide rapid access to care.
Responsibilities
- Administers emergent and critical care to a patient population which ranges from neonates to geriatrics utilizing the nursing process.
- Works cooperatively and interdependently with emergency, prehospital, law enforcement, and ancillary personnel while coordinating the emergent and critical care of patients requiring helicopter transportation.
- Markets the Air 1 Program and serves as a representative of the department, as well as the ETMC Regional Healthcare System, when involved with a public relations activity and/or marketing activity.
- Understands and supports the ETMC Mission, Vision, and Values.
- Adheres to all hospital policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Job Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Degree in nursing from an accredited school of professional nursing.
At least three years critical care nursing experience. Critical care experience is defined as no less than 4000 hrs in an ICU or emergency department
Texas RN license
Texas EMT-B certification and EMT-P within one year.
- BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN)
NRP
One advanced certification (CFRN, CEN, CCRN) required or within two years of employment.
Preferred Job Requirements:
