This position maintains professional accountability for the care provided to assigned patients and evaluates the overall effectiveness of care delivered by other direct caregivers. Position Details: Qualifications: Education Graduate of an accredited school of nursing (Associate’s Degree, Diploma, or BSN). Licensure Responsible for obtaining and maintaining an active RN license in the state of hire and/or compact licensure, meeting all State Board of Nursing requirements. Experience Experience requirements may vary by unit; relevant clinical experience preferred. Certifications Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association, or completion within 30 days of hire. One or more of the following certifications may be required based on the position or unit, or must be obtained within the department‑required timeframe: ACLS – Advanced Cardiac Life Support NRP – Neonatal Resuscitation Program ENPC – Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course TNCC – Trauma Nursing Core Course CPHON – Certified Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Nurse OCN – Oncology Certified Nurse PALS – Pediatric Advanced Life Support PEARS – Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization S.T.A.B.L.E. – Six Assessment & Care Modules C‑EFM – Electronic Fetal Monitoring Certification Other unit‑specific certifications as required Physical Requirements Ability to push, pull, and/or lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis. Transforming the Health of Our Communities Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest.
