- Medical Cardiopulmonary is a 30-bed medical unit with an 8-bed Pulmonary Acute intermediate/progressive care unit that will equip RNs with fundamental critical care experience in mechanical ventilation, while providing a solid nursing foundation focusing on safe patient outcomes. Nursing staff collaborate with the interdisciplinary team involving case managers, social workers, respiratory therapists, pharmacist, and physical therapists as well as specialty provider to provide patient centered care.
- Patient diagnosis range from pulmonary embolism requiring heparin drips to pneumothorax or empyema requiring chest tube management to complex pneumonia, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or congestive heart failure that requires advanced nursing skills for oxygen therapy, intravenous medications, chest trubs, tracheostomies, post procedural care, non-invasive ventilation, and mechanical ventilation, in addition to cardiac monitoring and drip titrations.
- Both the diverse patient population and supportive family culture of the Medical Cardiopulmonary unit provides a great atmosphere to advance in nursing skills.

Qualifications
Graduate from an accredited nursing program required, including, but not limited to, American Association of Colleges of Nursing (AACN), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), and National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA). Bachelor’s Degree in nursing preferred.
Currently holds an unencumbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state. Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
