Position Details: 🩺 Nurse Technician - NT 📍 Location Mercy Rehab Hospital 14561 N Outer 40 Rd, Chesterfield, MO 63017 Part time 2 - 12 hour shifts a week 🎓 Minimum Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program Completion of Fundamentals of Nursing (verified by transcript) Submission of school-provided competency skills checklist Must remain in good standing with nursing program (position ends if student leaves program) Certification: 🩹 BLS required within one month of hire 💪 Physical Requirements Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs Prolonged standing and walking Ability to bend, kneel, squat, twist, reach, and grip throughout shift 🌟 Preferred Qualifications Prior patient care experience (EMT, Paramedic, etc.) Certifications: CNA, CPCT, EMT, AUA (state-specific) ✅ Primary Responsibilities 🤝 Patient Care & Clinical Support Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs): hygiene, ambulation, turning/repositioning, feeding assistance, and skin care Observe patients for changes in condition and promptly report concerns to licensed staff Support admissions, transfers, and discharges (including patient belongings) Perform point-of-care testing and specimen collection as approved by unit and competency (e.g., glucose monitoring) Demonstrate sound clinical judgment, time management, and flexibility with assignments 🖥️ Documentation & Administrative Support Accurately gather and document patient data (e.g., vital signs) in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) Prepare charts for admissions, discharges, and transfers Perform clerical duties as needed, including answering phones and monitoring call lights Ensure accurate charge reconciliation and documentation 📋 Compliance & Professional Practice Maintain required certifications and complete assigned eLearning modules Accept delegated tasks within scope of practice Adhere to Mercy policies, unit standards, and professional conduct expectations Why Mercy? Transforming the Health of Our Communities Our Mercy health system was founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1986. But our heritage goes back more than 195 years. It began with an Irish woman named Catherine McAuley, who was determined to help women and children in Dublin experiencing poverty. Though Catherine had a modest upbringing, she received an unexpected inheritance that allowed her to fulfill that dream. In 1827, she opened the first House of Mercy in Dublin, intending to teach skills to women and educate children. Many volunteers came to help. A few years later, Catherine founded the Sisters of Mercy, one of the first religious orders whose Sisters were free to walk among the poor and visit them in their homes. In 1843, the Sisters of Mercy came to the United States. In 1856, they traveled to St. Louis. In the years to come, they would establish hospitals throughout the Midwest.
