Description:
THMA Medical Group is looking for a full-time Certified Mid-Wife to join our OBGyn practice in Langhorne, PA.
Provides midwifery services in accordance with the rules governing the standard of practice of midwifery in Pennsylvania and in accordance with the THMA Medical Group.
Responsibilities:
· Perform evaluation and management for OB care for patients in the OBGyn Clinic
· Completes ACOG Prenatal Records and assigns risk factors
· Evaluates the progress in labor and actively participates in clinical care
· Acts as first assist for cesarean sections
· Completes admission assessment according to policy.
· Performs circumcisions
· Anticipates potential length of stay or discharge problems
· Performs physical exam on initial visit and reports abnormal findings to MD
· Orders appropriate lab studies as indicated
· Participates in discharge planning
· Documents in a clear and legible manner in EMR system
· Utilizes the information management system to enhance communication
· Communicates and documents change in patient's condition to all appropriate individuals.
· Individualizes and documents educational plan based on age, cultural and spiritual values.
· Communicates transfer of patient responsibility.
· Documents emergency interventions according to policy.
· Documents medication use and controlled substance per policy
· Assesses learning needs, readiness to learn and actual or potential barriers to learning.
· Recognizes and integrates patient special needs and individualizes care.
· Includes pain management and supportive care issues in the plan of care.
· Adheres to infection control standards specific to patient care.
· Delegates work to the care team.
· Plans delivery of care according to patient acuity and staff competencies.
Requirements:
· MSN Required
· Nurse Midwife certification
· Current PA Registered Nurse license Required
· BLS Required
· ACLS Required
