Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care to patients across age groups, coordinating with the healthcare team to implement the plan of care and medication administration per physician orders and policies.
- Perform comprehensive assessments, document findings, and contribute to development and adjustment of individualized care plans.
- Administer medications and therapies, monitor responses, and recognize adverse effects; respond promptly to changes in patient condition.
- Supervise and direct assigned CNAs/Techs; delegate tasks appropriately and ensure safe patient handling and outcomes.
- Communicate clearly with patients, families, and team members; educate patients on diagnoses, procedures, medications, and post-discharge care; participate in discharge planning as indicated.
- Maintain infection control standards, accurate charting, and compliance with all policies; participate in ongoing education and competency checks.
Requirements
- Active, current RN license in the State of Alaska
- BLS and PALS at hire; ACLS to be obtained within 6 months of hire
- Must have flu vaccination on file; must submit two fingerprint cards immediately upon acceptance
- Minimum 1 year of clinical nursing experience preferred; prior experience in the area of specialty is preferred
- Ability to work in a SNF setting and handle night shift requirements
- Education: Graduate from an approved nursing program and eligible for Alaska RN licensure
- Travel assignment eligibility: SEARHC requires travelers to reside at least 50 miles from the facility; housing and flights are not provided by SEARHC
