RN Youth Development Center Contract | Monday-Friday | Rocky Mount, NC
Amergis Healthcare Staffing is hiring a compassionate RN for a 13-week contract at a Youth Detention Center in Rocky Mount, NC. This is a unique opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young individuals while gaining valuable experience in a secure, supportive environment.
Position Overview

Location: Rocky Mount, NC

Contract Length: 13 weeks (with strong potential for extension)

Shift: 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM

Schedule: Monday - Friday | 40 hours/week

Compensation: $50/hr (travel rate available)

Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct Patient Care

Conduct admission physical assessments for juveniles
-
Administer medications and treatments as prescribed

Monitor and document health status and respond to medical emergencies

Provide wound care, IV therapy, and chronic disease management
Health Education & Counseling
-
Educate youth on health conditions, medication adherence, and preventive care

Offer counseling on hygiene, nutrition, and lifestyle choices
Medical Coordination
Emergency Response
- Deliver emergency medical services when needed
Compliance & Safety
What We're Looking For

Experience: Minimum 1 year in correctional or behavioral health nursing (youth experience preferred)

Licensure: Active NC RN license or multistate compact license

Skills: Strong communication, empathy, and de-escalation techniques

Commitment: Reliability and dedication to fulfilling the full contract term
