We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Travel Hospice Registered Nurse (RN) to provide after-hours hospice care throughout the Tucson service area. This position plays a critical role in supporting patients and families by delivering high-quality end-of-life care, completing admissions, responding to PRN visits, and addressing urgent patient needs during evenings and weekends.
The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical assessment skills, excellent communication abilities, and a patient-centered approach to hospice care. This is an excellent opportunity for an RN who is passionate about hospice care and providing compassionate support to patients and families during their end-of-life journey.
Location: Tucson, AZ
Position type: Minimum 3-month temp/contract role (possible extension)
Pay Rate: $ 55.92/hour
Schedule:
Weekdays: 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM
Weekends: 8:00 AM - 8:00 PM
Hours may vary based on patient needs and census.
Key Responsibilities

Provide after-hours hospice nursing care to patients in their homes and care facilities

Complete routine nursing visits, PRN visits, and end-of-life visits as needed

Conduct hospice admissions, including comprehensive patient assessments and documentation

Assess patient condition and identify changes in health status

Develop and implement nursing interventions to promote patient comfort and quality of life

Provide education and emotional support to patients, caregivers, and family members

Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders and hospice care plans

Collaborate with physicians, social workers, chaplains, and interdisciplinary hospice team members

Document all patient care accurately and timely according to agency and regulatory standards

Participate in on-call and after-hours coverage as scheduled

Ensure compliance with hospice regulations, policies, and standards of care
Required Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) License

Current CPR Certification

Strong clinical assessment and patient care skills

Ability to work independently in home-based settings

Reliable transportation and willingness to travel throughout the coverage area
