Job Summary and Qualifications
We are seeking a PICC Registered Nurse. As a PICC RN, you will independently insert peripherally placed central venous, mid-line, and peripheral I.V. catheters. What you will do in this role
· You will utilize all site preparation, insertion, and site catheter processes, as defined in hospital infection control and HAC avoidance policies and guidelines.
· You will monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
· You act as a resource regarding insertion and maintenance of peripherally inserted catheters, products and procedures.
· You instruct and provide information to staff, patients and their families regarding use and care of peripherally inserted catheters.
· You assess patient's condition, venous access needs, and learning needs based on systematic data collection having mastered assessment skills for PICC (or midline) and screening criteria.
Requirements:
· Licensure as a Florida Registered Nurse in accordance with state regulations or appropriate compact licensure. If compact license held, active FL RN license required within 60 days of hire.
· Nursing Diploma or ASN required; BSN preferred.
· At least two (2) years' experience in an acute care setting strongly preferred. ( 6month complex IV)
· Current American Heart Association BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required.
· Critical thinking, service excellence and good interpersonal communication skills, ability to read/comprehend written instructions, ability to follow verbal instructions, PC skills
