The Primary Care team provides comprehensive healthcare for patients and families and focuses on preventing diseases and promoting health and wellness. Services range from preventive care, such as screenings and immunizations, to sick visits and chronic disease management. As an LPN, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional, top-quality care to a diverse patient population. In this role, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, all while enhancing your nursing skills through hands-on experience and numerous educational resources offered within the Cleveland Clinic system.
A caregiver in this position works days from 8:00AM - 4:30PM.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Provide professional nursing care to patients.

Administer medication.

Maintain complete and accurate documentation in medical records and files.

Complete authorization forms and laboratory requisitions.

Implement pain management assessments and documentation.

Recognize changes in patients' status and report pertinent information to Charge Nurse or Physicians.

Educate patients, families and others.
-
Adhere to the National Patient Safety Goals as outlined by JCAHO.

Follow Code Blue protocol.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Graduate of an accredited LPN program

Florida Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license
-
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross

Knowledge of infection control practices

Experience with technology

Computer literacy
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Physical Requirements:

Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good hand-eye coordination, involves extensive standing walking and occasional lifting.

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Requires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hours.
-
Requires some exposure to communicable diseases or body fluids.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
