Job Summary and Qualifications
This is a Full time Night shift position, 7:00pm - 7:00am with rotating weekends
The Progressive Care Registered Nurse coordinates and delivers high quality, patient-centered care within the scope of the Registered Nurse Practice Act with emphasis on the cardiovascular service line. The RN serves as an advocate for patients to support an unparalleled patient experience.
What you will do in this role:

Use therapeutic communication in daily practice

Maintain a safe and therapeutic Progressive Care environment

Implement and direct care, using the nursing process with emphasis on the needs of individual Progressive Care patients

Evaluate the effectiveness of the nursing process
-
Provide emotional support of the patient and significant others to make informed choices regarding health care
-
Delegate tasks to the appropriate caregiver
-
Participate in cardiovascular department specific initiatives and process improvement
-
Promote a supportive Progressive Care environment

Provide supervision of new employees, patient care assistant, vocational nurses, nurse technicians, student nurses and/or nurse externs Maintain high quality (age specific) care for adolescent, adult and geriatric patients as assigned

What qualifications you will need:
-
Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing

Associate's Degree okay to start, must obtain BSN within 24 months of hire into RN position

Current RN license in the State of TX or compact license
-
Current BLS issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
-
Current ACLS issued by the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross
-
Acute care experience required within the last 5 years, preferably a minimum of 1 year previous experience

Experience with cardiovascular/telemetry patients, preferred
