Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is looking for a Registered Nurse for our client in Seattle, WA .
Type: 3-month contract, with potential for extension or full-time offer
Pay: $45 to 47/hr (Pay can be negotiable and discussed during screening.)
Location: Seattle WA
Schedule: Four days a week, ten-hour shifts
Responsibilities of the Registered Nurse:
· Under general supervision of the ASC Practice manager and under direct supervision of the Charge Nurse, the Staff Registered Nurse (RN), is responsible for safe patient care from pre-operative through post-anesthesia, if applicable, recovery and discharge of the patient.
· Provides nursing care in the preoperative setting including pre-op and PACU.
· Performs ECG's, urine pregnancy and glucometer testing.
· Assess patient status in pre-op, ensure accurate identification and verifies all consent forms.
· Assesses pre-operative vital signs to ensure they are within acceptable parameters for scheduled surgeries.
· Performs initial assessment on arrival in the PACU, including managing patient airways, including airway adjuncts.
· Documents nursing activities to provide a permanent record, for continuity of care, quality improvement and professional accountability
· Plans, supervises, and assists with the transfer and transport of the patient to protect the patient and personnel from injury.
· Follows all established policies and procedures. Delivers quality customer service consistent with facility standards.
· Establishes and maintains a safe environment to protect the patient and the health care team by monitoring the patient (physiologically and psychologically) and the environment and by implementing safety procedures.
· Communicates information, discharge information and education to patient family members.
· Evaluates effectiveness of nursing care to determine degree of goal attainment by comparing patient outcomes with patient goals
· Executes nursing activities to provide life support in an emergency situation by taking appropriate action and/or providing direction/assistance to health care team members
· Maintains a team-supportive attendance record and professional conduct.
Required Skills & Qualifications of the RN:
· 1+ years as an RN; perioperative, PACU, ER or ICU nursing experience,
Demonstrated achievement of performance standards for perioperative nursing according to AORN (Association of perioperative Registered Nurses) standards of practice
· Ability to work independently
· Solid communication, writing, and organizational skills
· Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
· Active Registered Nurse license through the Washington State Department of Health
· Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare providers (AHA)
· Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) required within 3 months of hire
