Position Summary:
The Pre- and Post-Procedure Recovery RN is responsible for the comprehensive assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for patients undergoing diagnostic and interventional procedures. This includes preparation and monitoring prior to procedures, as well as post-procedure recovery, hemodynamic monitoring, access site management, and early identification and management of potential complications. The RN collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to support efficient patient care and workflow and assumes Flow coordination responsibilities when assigned.
A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Must be a licensed Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia. Current BLS certification required. Advanced Cardiac Life
Support (ACLS) within six months of hire
B. Education: Must be a graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
C. Experience: One-year previous diagnostic/invasive cardiac Cath lab and/or recovery
experience preferred.
What you will do:
· The Cardiac Cath Lab Prep & Recovery RN will prep patients for procedures as well as provide Phase I recovery to patients after their procedure.
· Under limited supervision, the Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing patients, including developing, evaluating, and modifying the care plan. The RN interprets and performs complex patient-care procedures specific to their expertise.
· RNs are members of the Care Team and Support Team and have accountability to function as a team to accomplish patient outcomes identified in the pathway/plan of care.
· The Registered Nurse is a professional caregiver who assumes responsibility and accountability for the care given to a group of patients for a designated time frame.
· The RN provides care to those patients via therapeutic use of self, the nursing process, the environment/technology, and other healthcare team members, according to established standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
· A current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Georgia.
· Graduation from an accredited nursing education program approved by the Board of Nursing or found by the Board to be substantially equivalent to the programs in Georgia.
· Successful completion of a refresher course within the past 6 months if nursing practice has not occurred within the past 5 years.
· Prior experience in Cardiac Care preferred or prior PACU, Critical Care. Must be BLS and ACLS certified thru the American Heart Association.
