This ambulatory-focused APP role blends clinical autonomy with strong surgical collaboration in a growing orthopedic service line. You will practice at the top of your license while partnering with an experienced team of surgeons and APPs, delivering highly specialized care across a diverse patient population.
The Role:
This is a Monday through Friday, ambulatory-based position with no call and no weekend responsibilities , designed to support both lifestyle balance and clinical excellence. You will function with increasing independence while remaining closely integrated with a highly collaborative surgical team.

In this role, you will:

Independently evaluate and manage patients across the lifespan, from infants to older adults

Provide care for a full spectrum of hand and upper extremity conditions , including:

Common diagnoses such as carpal tunnel syndrome and trigger finger
-
Complex trauma and reconstructive cases
-
Perform in-clinic procedures including:
-
Injections, including fluoroscopic-guided injections
-
Minor procedures and fracture reductions
-
Collaborate closely with:
-
5 orthopedic hand surgeons and 2 APP colleagues
-
Interdisciplinary partners including hand therapy, orthopedic subspecialties, and plastic surgery hand teams

Participate in monthly OR assisting opportunities , building surgical experience and technical skills
-
Progress toward high-functioning clinical independence within a supportive, team-based environment

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degree.
Experience: Department and unit specific.
Licensure: License or license eligible as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Associate, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist, and Certified Nurse Midwife) as set forth by the state of Virginia. If Nurse Practitioner, license to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia is required. Must demonstrate and maintain all credentialing and licensing requirements of UVA Health System, the Virginia Board of Medicine or the Virginia Board of Nursing, and appropriate certifying bodies. Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Current PALS/NRP, as required, specific to position. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) as required, specific to position.

The pay range for this role is $124,845.00 - $178,089.60 annually. Individual compensation will be determined by the selected candidate's qualifications, previous work experience, and/or education.
