Position Summary
The School Registered Nurse oversees the nursing process and delivery of care within a school setting. The RN plays a vital role in promoting the physical, mental, and emotional health of students by responding to medical needs, managing chronic health conditions, and collaborating with families, school staff, and healthcare providers.
Responsibilities

Provide and coordinate healthcare services for students

Assess and respond to student health concerns and medical emergencies

Manage student medications and chronic health conditions

Promote health education and wellness initiatives

Maintain accurate health records and documentation

Collaborate with parents, educators, and healthcare professionals

Ensure compliance with school, state, and federal healthcare regulations
Minimum Requirements
-
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of California
-
Bachelor's Degree preferred

School Nurse Certification, if required by state or contract
-
One year of school nursing, public health, or pediatric experience preferred

Current CPR certification, if applicable
-
TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray, if applicable
-
Current health certificate, per contract or state requirements
-
Compliance with all federal, state, and local requirements
-
Must be at least 18 years of age
