Job Summary and Qualifications
The RN safely performs all nursing care functions required for patients having diagnostic and therapeutic procedures performed in the Cardiovascular Labs. Such care includes patient assessment, hemodynamic monitoring, administration of medications, starting and maintaining I.V.'s, providing for physician assistance by acting as scrub nurse during procedures, act as circulator nurse during procedures, administration of pharmacologic agents involved with conscious sedation, and monitoring patients receiving conscious sedation.

Patient Assessment and Documentation of Patient Status Throughout Procedures: Oversees assessment and recording of patient status upon arrival to suite and throughout procedures.

Documentation: Ensures all appropriate documentation (pre, during, and post procedure) is complete.

Independently performs monitor, scrub, and circulator roles.

Identifies supplies needed for specific procedures

Understands and practices sterile technique

Enters procedure and supply charges correctly

Orients new employees

Participates in departmental performance improvement activities
What qualifications you will need:

Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

(RN) Registered Nurse

Associate Degree, or Bachelors Degree

2+ years experience working with cardiac patients (i.e. Telemetry area, C.C.U.), and/or in a critical care setting (Emergency Department, Surgical/Medical Intensive Care

Previous experience in a Cath Lab performing diagnostic and interventional procedures is preferred
