Job Description:
Functions as a member of the team and participates in team meetings and team activities; Attends nursing staff meeting, RN Unit Council, Family Medicine Community meetings, and other practice committees as assigned; Provides lunch hour and late afternoon unit coverage on a rotating basis to assure there is no interruption in patient care services; Covers urgent calls from answering service during the lunch hour. Assumes responsibility for professional growth and continued skill and knowledge development, participating in community, hospital, and Family Medicine continuing education programs; Participates in development, implementation and maintenance of quality improvement programs at Family Medicine; Performs other tasks as requested or assigned to the function of Registered Nurse; Adjusts patient interaction to meet the needs of the various ages of the practice population; Uses PFCC principles and customer-focused behavior in daily work; Orients new nursing staff to the Family Medicine Center; Provides clinical preceptorship supervision to undergraduate nursing students and medical assistant students.
Salary Range:
$34.01 - $39.43 an hour
The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job's compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.

Qualifications:

Education: Fulfilled the educational requirements to practice as a licensed Registered Nurse in NYS; BSN preferred.

Experience (minimum required): Two years' experience in direct nursing care in a hospital or community health center, with patients of all ages. Ambulatory care and telephone triage experience preferred. Computer literacy essential.

License/Certification Required: current NYS RN license, current CPR certification (American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers).

Skills (to include equipment, software, etc.): Ability to perform under stress of working with people who are ill and may be demanding. Ability to defuse or cope with anger and hostility in others. Effective interpersonal communication and problem solving skills. Ability to work collaboratively and courteously with others. Ability to cope with ambiguity in decision making situations and to determine need for care immediacy.
