Advanced Houston Specialty Hospital is looking for Clinical Educator (RN) in our newly renovated facility at 205 Hollow Tree Lane, Spring, TX.
Position Summary:
Reports to director of nursing. Directly supervises clinical coordinator and infection control nurse. Responsible for planning, developing, coordinating, delivering, and evaluating education and competency programs for nursing and clinical staff. Promotes safe, evidence-based clinical practice and ensures staff have the knowledge, skills, and competencies necessary to provide high-quality patient care. Works collaboratively with nursing leadership, department managers, providers, infection prevention, human resources, and other members of the interdisciplinary team to identify educational needs, improve clinical performance, support regulatory compliance, and promote a culture of continuous learning and professional development. This role ensures the delivery of safe, high-quality patient care, and supports compliance with federal and state healthcare regulations, and Advanced Specialty Hospitals (ASH) policies.
Essential Functions:

Demonstrate thorough knowledge of hospital and departmental policies and procedures and organizational structure.

Assess educational and professional development needs of nursing and clinical staff.

Develop and implement annual nursing and clinical education plans based on identified needs, regulatory requirements, quality data, and organizational priorities.

Provide education through classroom instruction, hands-on training, simulation, skills demonstrations, online learning, coaching, and other appropriate methods.

Develop educational materials, presentations, competency tools, reference guides, and other resources for clinical staff.

Provide education regarding new or revised policies, procedures, equipment, medications, clinical practices, and regulatory requirements.

Serve as a clinical resource to nursing staff and other members of the healthcare team.

Promote professional development, critical thinking, clinical judgment, and evidence-based nursing practice.

Provides direct patient care and may assume assigned clinical staffing responsibilities as needed to support patient care operations.

Demonstrate clinical competence when providing care, using technology, administering medications, performing procedures and managing emergencies, acting as a patient advocate.

Collaborates with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and deliver disease-specific patient education that promotes health literacy, treatment adherence, self-management, and achievement of patient care goals.

Maintain accurate documentation and reporting in accordance with facility policies and applicable laws.

Participates in the clinical on-call rotation and provides consultation, support, and operational coverage during evenings, weekends, holidays, and emergency situations as assigned.

Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and professionalism among staff.

Maintain accountability for staff, patients, and hospital property; adhere to all security and safety protocols applicable to a correctional healthcare environment.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Graduate from an accredited nursing program required. Current unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Texas or compact state required. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Two years' experience in clinical education preferred. Experience in correctional healthcare also preferred. Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
Post Hire Requirements:
Must successfully complete annual new hire and in-service training requirements and pass an annual background check.
