Nursing Specialty: Behavioral Health
Registered Nurse (RN) Duties & Responsibilities:

Provides professional Registered Nursing care independently.

Supervises and provides instructions to Graduate Nurses, LPNs, and direct care staff.

Delegates appropriate nursing tasks and monitors staff performance.

Conducts nursing assessments, obtains vital signs, and updates health records.

Develops, implements, and modifies nursing care plans.

Administers medications and nursing treatments as prescribed.

Monitors patients' conditions, symptoms, responses to medications, diet, and activity.

Coordinates care with physicians, outside agencies, treatment teams, and other healthcare professionals.

Advocates for patients and assists with discharge planning and continuity of care.

Provides health education, counseling, and instruction to patients, families, and staff.

Implements and monitors infection control procedures.

Maintains accurate medical records, charts, and documentation.

Monitors medications, supplies, equipment, and nursing inventory.

May perform supervisory duties, including staff evaluations and reports.
Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum of one (1) yearof recent experience as an RN.

Licensed and registered to practice nursing in New York State.

Vaccination requirements: Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and influenza vaccines are required.

Additional certifications may be required.

Copy of current, completedPrimary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
