The Float Pool provides a unique experience for caregivers to care for diverse populations of patients in many critical care units, departments and/or locations while learning from many of our best caregivers. As an RN on this team, you will assist fellow staff in providing exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off. In this role, you will interact directly with patients, families and visitors, offering the opportunity to enhance their experience and supply healthcare information as needed. This role specializes in caring for surgical patients requiring ICU support, including open-heart and neuro ICU cases, as well as patients undergoing thrombectomy. It also includes managing trauma patients, such as those with gunshot or stabbing injuries, while providing flexible coverage across multiple critical care areas.

A caregiver in this role works days from 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. with weekend and holiday requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Provide direct nursing care.

Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.

Monitor, record, document and communicate patients' conditions.

Administer prescribed medications and treatments.

Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.

Assess and coordinate patients' discharge needs.

Educate patients and their families.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (ADN or BSN program)

Current licensure as Registered Nurse (RN)

Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross

*If in a Critical Care area an Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) Certification or ALS through American Red Cross must be presented upon hire or within first year of employment

One year of current acute care RN experience OR licensed military RN experience
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $35.50
Maximum hourly: $55.60
