Nursing Specialty: RN - Pediatric Psychiatric
RN - Pediatric Psychiatric Duties & Responsibilities
-
Provide nursing care to children and adolescents with behavioral, emotional, and mental health needs.

Assess patients' physical and psychiatric conditions, monitor behavior and changes in condition, and provide appropriate interventions.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed and monitor patients for effectiveness and potential side effects.

Maintain a safe, supportive, and therapeutic environment while following established safety and behavioral health protocols.

Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to support individualized treatment plans.

Educate and support patients and families regarding treatment, medications, coping strategies, and ongoing care needs.

Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, interventions, patient responses, and progress.
Minimum Qualifications
-
Active CO State Registered Nurse License
-
BSN, Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.

Minimum 2 years RN experience in behavioral health (4 if without bachelors)
-
Minimum 1 year pediatric behavioral health experience.

ED pediatric experience, Psych inpatient experience, emergency department experience

Active BLS
-
Additional certifications may be required

Copy of current, completedPrimary Source Verification (PSV) from the appropriate licensing board or verification agency, if required.

Copy of all current required certifications and compliance documents (e.g., .BLS, N95 fit test, immunization records, TB test, or other client-specific requirements).
