Description:
This position is responsible for coordinating, planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating, and goal-setting for the hospital-wide Infection Prevention and Control Program that is compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements to promote high-quality, cost-effective healthcare. The incumbent is accountable for the development of effective systems and processes for the prevention of hospital-associated infections, infection surveillance, infection identification, and communication to appropriate leaders of identified trends and opportunities. The incumbent must demonstrate a high level of problem-solving and expertise in an highly-specialized knowledge base, recommending corrective action and prevention measures. This position is a liaison to the Environment of Care and Emergency Preparedness Committees, and is responsible for the development and implementation of plans to accommodate a potential surge of contagious patients due to naturally-occurring events, bioterrorist attack, or pandemic. The incumbent has 24-hour accountability for the Infection Prevention and Control Program, manages the supervision of the Infection Prevention and Control team, including the hiring process, colleague evaluations, and disciplinary actions, and is responsible for the operational budget of the Infection Prevention and Control Program.
REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing or public health related field is required. Master's degree in Public Health or Nursing is preferred.

Valid California state Registered Nursing (RN) License required.

Three (3) years of experience in an acute care setting and two (2) years managerial experience are required.

Current certification with the Board of Infection Control (CIC) is required.

Current American Heart Association (AHA) Healthcare Provider CPR card is required.

Previous education and experience in quality improvement is preferred.

Membership in the Association for Professionals in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC) is preferred.

Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Ability to present information in a confident, clear, concise, and articulate manner is required.

Proficiency in using Microsoft Office products, including Excel and PowerPoint, and various other computer software products and applications is required
Pay Range ($122,699 - $184,080)
