What You'll Do
-
Serve as the communication bridge between the sterile surgical field and staff or family outside the OR
-
Keep leadership informed by updating the Surgical Nursing Director on case progress and any unusual circumstances

Prepare operating rooms by ensuring proper setup, supplies, equipment, and instrumentation

Verify equipment functionality, including suction, lighting, and specialty devices

Perform and document scrub and needle counts, escalating unresolved discrepancies appropriately

Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and deliver supplies to the sterile field efficiently

Handle specimen management, including proper labeling and completion of pathology documentation

Manage instrument decontamination and sterilization using approved cleaning agents and sterilization systems (ultrasonic, steam, Steris)

Maintain sterile supply organization, rotate stock, and remove expired items

Assist with inventory management, supply ordering, and anesthesia stock maintenance

Respond knowledgeably and calmly in emergency situations, including cardiac arrest
What You Bring
-
Active Kansas Registered Nurse (RN) license
-
Minimum of 6 months of Operating Room experience, including strong clinical judgment

Current BLS certification
-
ACLS/ALS and PALS certifications-or ability to obtain within 6 months
-
Strong attention to detail, adaptability, and excellent teamwork skills
Nice‑to‑Have Experience

Exposure to ENT, Orthopedics, GI, or General Surgery

Multilingual language skills
-
Experience in a clinical office or ambulatory surgical setting
Work Schedule & Environment

4 nine‑hour day shifts, Monday-Friday

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.00/hr.
