The Neonatal Nurse Practitioner provides comprehensive assessment and treatment of neonatal patients in an inpatient NICU and step-down nursery setting. The provider will develop and document plans of care in collaboration with families, neonatologists, pediatric hospitalists, APPs, residents, multidisciplinary team members, and community resources.
The provider must be comfortable attending high-risk deliveries, performing neonatal resuscitation, and completing common neonatal procedures including intubation, lumbar puncture, venipuncture, arterial puncture, umbilical line placement, thoracentesis, and thoracostomy. The provider should also be comfortable with X-ray and laboratory interpretation and have foundational knowledge of ordering total parenteral nutrition.
This role offers 12-hour inpatient shifts, days and/or nights, with varied weekday and weekend coverage. No call is required.
Minimum Requirements:

Board Certified Nurse Practitioner required

Active Maine license or active IMLC required

NRP certification required

EPIC experience required

COVID and flu vaccination required

NPDB report within 30 days of presentation required

Experience with high-risk deliveries and neonatal procedures required

Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements
