Job Summary and Qualifications
The Registered Nurse coordinates nursing care for the patients and participates in patient/family education. Works collaboratively with ancillary staff and other patient care personnel in maintaining standards of professional nursing practice in the clinical setting. Participates in performance improvement activities to improve patient safety and quality of care. Values each individual's unique and intrinsic worth when dealing with patients, visitors, co-workers and other customers. Promotes a supportive, team-work oriented environment. Fulfills departmental responsibilities consistent with the long-range plan, mission, vision and values of HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast. Accurately documents in the patient 's record a description of the nursing care provided.

Administers medication in a safe, knowledgeable and accurate manner. Follows laws, regulations, and hospital policy as it relates to controlled substances.

Assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care for assigned patients. Including discharge planning, utilizing an interdisciplinary team approach.

Assists the physician with examination tests and procedures.

Carries out physician orders in a safe and appropriate manner.

Completes and demonstrated proficiency with unit based clinical and age-appropriate nursing competencies.

Complies with applicable hospital policy/procedure.

Essential duties and responsibilities include the following: Provides general nursing care to assigned patients.

Monitors and observes the patient and accurately records changes in condition and reaction to medications and treatment.

Plans and coordinates patient/family teaching and assesses understanding of information provided.

What qualifications you will need:

Advanced Cardiac Life Spt must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date

Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

(RN) Registered Nurse with an active license in the state of Texas or a multistate license with Texas

Bachelors Degree, or Associate Degree
-
1 year of experience working in an acute hospital cardiac rehab setting required
