Position Overview
The School Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in supporting the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of students. This position oversees the nursing process within the school setting, responds to medical emergencies, manages chronic health conditions, and serves as a key liaison between families, school staff, and healthcare providers. Care is delivered in accordance with Amergis standards, policies, and physician orders.
Key Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to students in accordance with individualized health plans

Respond to medical emergencies and acute health needs

Manage chronic conditions and medication administration
-
Conduct health assessments and maintain accurate documentation

Collaborate with families, school staff, and healthcare providers

Promote student health, safety, and wellness

Support compliance with state and district health regulations
Minimum Requirements
-
Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment
-
Bachelor's degree (BSN) preferred
-
School Nurse Certification as required by state/contract
-
1 year of school nursing, pediatric, or public health experience preferred
-
Current CPR , if applicable
-
TB questionnaire, PPD, or chest X-ray (as required)

Current Health Certificate (per contract/state regulation)

Must meet all federal, state, and local requirements

Must be 18 years or older
