Job Descriptions:
Licensed professional nurses who provide support to Registered Nurses in a variety of State facilities, programs and settings. Incumbents observe, identify and document any changes, negative or positive in the condition of the incarcerated individual, promptly reports any changes to a RN to facilitate nursing care plans; demonstrates knowledge of basic nursing skills within the framework of case findings, health teaching, counseling and provision of supportive and restorative care under the direction of a Registered Nurse. The LPN must have experience in fast paced working environments, with medication administration, they must know how to obtain a complete set of vital signs, gather information to report accurately to an RN, they must be able to follow directions given by the facility RNS, a supervising RN or a primary care provider. The LPN must arrive on time to their scheduled shift, they must be able to complete their assigned work duties in a timely manner, they must possess organizational skills, and work autonomously under an RN. A criminal history check must be completed before the candidate is granted entrance into the facility. The results may take 7-10 business days for processing.
Licensed professional nursing tasks and activities include: but are not limited to: providing nursing care to individuals; administering treatment and medications within established guidelines and as prescribed by licensed health care providers.
