Description
Position Summary:
The Registered Nurse (RN) Supervisor is a full-time, in-office leadership position. The RN Supervisor is responsible for the day-to-day oversight, coordination, and management of the organization's Registered Nurse program and nursing staff. This position ensures operational readiness, clinical excellence, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and effective communication between nursing staff and executive leadership.
The RN Supervisor serves as the primary point of contact for nursing operations during business hours and collaborates closely with Communications Center personnel, field clinicians, and leadership to support patient care and operational effectiveness.
Program Management & Leadership

Provide direct oversight and supervision of all Registered Nurses within the organization.

Manage the day-to-day operations of the RN program.

Monitor staff performance and provide coaching, guidance, and support to nursing personnel.

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, state regulations, and applicable clinical standards.

Collaborate with the Director of Clinical Services to develop and implement program initiatives and process improvements.
Scheduling & Staffing

Develop, maintain, and manage the RN on-call schedule.

Ensure all RN on-call shifts are adequately staffed.

Promptly communicate staffing shortages or coverage concerns to upper management.

Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement corrective action plans when staffing challenges arise.

Coordinate responses to RN call-outs and staffing emergencies.
Clinical Operations

Serve as the primary RN responsible for handling RN calls and nursing-related issues during regular office hours.

Provide clinical guidance and support to field personnel as needed.

Assist Communications Center personnel with screening calls to determine the appropriate level of service required.

Assist with Mobile Integrated Healthcare (MIH) calls and patient interactions when clinically appropriate or when the Communications Center requires assistance.
Equipment & Supply Management

Conduct regular inspections of all SCT and RN response bags.

Ensure all bags are appropriately stocked and equipped.

Verify that all medications, supplies, and equipment remain within expiration dates.

Maintain operational readiness of nursing equipment at all company locations.
Quality Assurance & Compliance

Assist with quality assurance reviews of SCT/RN and ALS electronic Patient Care Reports (ePCRs).

Participate in chart reviews, clinical audits, and quality improvement initiatives.

Ensure documentation meets regulatory, organizational, and clinical standards.

Support ongoing clinical education and compliance efforts.
Communication & Collaboration

Maintain effective communication with nursing staff, field personnel, Communications Center staff, and executive leadership.

Participate in leadership meetings and provide updates regarding nursing operations and program performance.

Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Requirements
Required Education and Experience
-
Current licensure as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland.

Minimum of Two (2) years of Emergency Department and/or Critical Care nursing experience.

Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
-
Experience in emergency medical services, critical care transport, or prehospital healthcare preferred.
Required Certifications
-
Current Maryland Registered Nurse License.

Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.

Current CPR certification.
-
Completion of a MIEMSS-approved Quality Assurance course.

Valid driver's license.

Certification and Licensure Requirements
The RN Supervisor must maintain a current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland and maintain all certifications, credentials, and continuing education requirements necessary to function as a Critical Care Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland throughout employment.

Employment Status: Full-Time (Mon-Fri 8 hour shifts), Exempt (as applicable)

Salary Description
$35 and up
