Job Summary and Responsibilities
As our Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner, responsible for delivering care to patients admitted to Neurosurgery at Chandler Regional Medical Center in collaboration with the physician/medical director, you will assume clinical responsibility for tasks performed within your scope of practice. This includes taking patient's history, performing physical examinations, ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, establishing diagnosis, and providing care and management for common illnesses and disease prevention.
Every day, you may assist with patient admission, transfer, or discharge. You will make appropriate referrals to specialists and community agencies, and participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop patient-centered plans. In addition to routine duties, you will provide care and management for acutely ill patients, respond to emergency situations, and may see patients in intensive care units or other high-acuity settings.
To be successful in your role, you will strategically deliver comprehensive, specialized patient care, assuming clinical responsibility for assessing, diagnosing, and managing common illnesses and acute conditions, often in critical care settings. You will demonstrate exceptional clinical expertise in performing physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, and collaborating effectively within a multidisciplinary team to develop patient-centered plans, while actively participating in quality assurance and ensuring appropriate referrals and care management.

Completes hospital and department documentation legibly, accurately and within designated timeframe.

Works in collaboration with sponsoring physician, case management and staff nurses to provide patient care.

Complies with legal restrictions regarding lines of authority, supervision and communication.

Acts as a liaison between physicians, nursing departments, ancillary staff on behalf of patients and their families.
Job Requirements
Required

Masters Degree from an accredited school of nursing

Three (3) years clinical experience

Credentialed as allied health professional with CRMC and MGMC
