Respite Nurse (LPN) - Community Mental Health
Location: Lowell, MA
Program: Respite House
Schedule: 3 days/week, 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Start Date: Approximately 2 weeks from offer
Pay Rate: $50/hour (RN)
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (initial)
Position Overview:
Amergis Staffing is seeking a compassionate and experienced Respite Nurse to provide community-based care for adults living with severe and persistent mental illness. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric care, medication management, and client support, and will be comfortable working in a dynamic respite setting with frequent admissions and discharges.
This role involves direct client care, coordination with providers, and supporting individuals in managing their mental health and overall wellness.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive nursing care and interventions to clients

Manage and administer medications in accordance with treatment plans

Conduct client assessments and maintain accurate documentation

Develop and update Comprehensive Assessments and Individual Action Plans (IAPs)

Coordinate care with healthcare providers and follow up as needed

Educate clients on medications, symptoms, and wellness strategies

Support overall nursing department operations

Participate in supervision, team meetings, trainings, and in-services
Qualifications:

Active LPN
-
Minimum of 1 year experience working with mental health/psychiatric populations

At least 1 year of medication administration experience

Knowledge of psychiatric medications and treatment approaches

Valid driver's license and reliable transportation

Experience in a respite or similar setting strongly preferred
