About the Role
Palmdale School District is seeking a dedicated Licensed Vocational Nurse to support students in a school-based setting. This role is ideal for LVNs who are passionate about working with children, providing high-quality care, and contributing to a safe and supportive learning environment. You will work closely with school staff, respond to student health needs, and assist with daily medical routines.
Key Responsibilities

Student Health Support: Provide direct care for students with chronic or acute health needs.

Medication Administration: Administer medications according to district and physician guidelines.

Health Monitoring: Track and document student health status throughout the school day.

Emergency Response: Respond to injuries, illnesses, and urgent medical situations.

Care Coordination: Communicate with parents, staff, and healthcare providers as needed.

Documentation: Maintain accurate health records and incident reports.
Qualifications

Current California LVN license in good standing
-
CPR/First Aid certification
-
Experience in pediatrics, school nursing, or community health preferred

Strong communication and assessment skills

Ability to work independently in a school environment

Negotiable hourly rate based on experience

Minimum Requirements:
-
Graduate of an accredited registered, practical or vocational nursing program
-
Licensed as a Licensed Practical, Licensed Vocational or Registered Nurse in state(s) where practicing

One year of professional experience, preferred

Current CPR
-
PPD or chest x-ray if applicable
-
Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation)

Must meet all federal, state and local requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age
