South Pointe Hospital's 7th Floor Med/Surg and Observation Unit focuses on healing and surgery while providing comprehensive care and services to adults with a wide variety of diagnoses, such as chest pain, stomach pain, or generalized weakness. With such variety, no two days are the same, but you will be surrounded every day by a team of long-standing caregivers who welcome you with open arms. As LPN on this team, you will interact with these 158 fellow healthcare staff, collaborating to create the best possible experience for patients, families and visitors.
A caregiver in this position works day/evening rotation from 7:00 p.m. - 7:30 a.m. or 7:00 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. with every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:

Collect, document and report patient data and observations.

Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.

Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.

Perform routine laboratory tests.

Educate patients and family members.

Participate in the departmental orientation of new employees in a positive manner, share knowledge, experiences, and provide guidance when assigned.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program

Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
- One year of patient care experience
Physical Requirements:

Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination.

Involves extensive standing and walking.

Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range.

Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $23.25
Maximum hourly: $33.50
