SVMC seeks an Assistant Director for the Emergency Department and Emergency Crisis Area. The Assistant Director has the accountability and authority for the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing care, coordinating and facilitating the provision of quality inpatient and outpatient care and service.
He/she collaborates in providing quality patient care, oversees staff performance, systems improvement, clinical oversight and instruction, collaborates with members of the multidisciplinary health care team to oversee and continually improve patient care systems and processes.
He/she participates in setting and implementing ED goals, priorities and strategies, assists in budget development and manages to budget after approval. He/she maintains a high level of internal visibility and is responsible for development and ongoing supervision of the staff.
Requirements:

Bachelor's degree, Five years of nursing experience required

2 to 3 years of progressively responsible management or leadership experience

3 years of clinical experience in Emergency care

Valid Vermont State RN license required by date of hire.

Health Care Provider BLS certification required with 90 days of hire.

Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support ACLS verification required.
-
PALS and TNCC required.
-
CEN within 5 years of hire.
This position is salaried and exempt from overtime.
