Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring a Registered Nurse Case Manager for our healthcare partner in Bangor, ME.
The anticipated hourly wage for this position is $30.26 per hour. Hourly wage may depend upon experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Registered Nurse Case Manager to support care coordination and utilization management efforts within an acute care hospital setting. In this role, you will work collaboratively with physicians, nursing staff, social workers, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure appropriate levels of care, optimize patient outcomes, and facilitate safe and timely transitions of care.
The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical assessment skills, case management experience, knowledge of regulatory requirements, and a patient-centered approach to care coordination.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct comprehensive admission and ongoing case management assessments, including evaluation of medical necessity, level of care validation, and progression of care.

Perform utilization reviews and monitor patient status to ensure compliance with regulatory and payer requirements.

Drive length-of-stay optimization and improve access day performance through proactive discharge planning and daily interdisciplinary collaboration.

Complete timely admission reviews, continued stay reviews, and required documentation in accordance with CMS guidelines.

Ensure proper administration and documentation of regulatory forms, including Important Message from Medicare (IMM) and Medicare Outpatient Observation Notice (MOON).

Coordinate transitions of care, including post-acute placements and community resource referrals, to support successful patient outcomes and reduce avoidable readmissions.

Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, social work, and ancillary departments to identify and resolve barriers to discharge.

Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant clinical documentation supporting medical necessity, progression of care, and regulatory standards.

Monitor high-risk patient populations and identify opportunities for early intervention to reduce excess hospital days.

Support audit readiness activities and maintain compliance with organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to patient-centered care planning.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.

Previous Case Management experience in an acute care hospital setting.

Strong patient-facing and bedside clinical experience.

Experience utilizing Cerner Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.

Knowledge of utilization review, discharge planning, care coordination, and medical necessity criteria.

Strong understanding of CMS regulations and healthcare compliance requirements.

Excellent communication, critical thinking, and organizational skills.

Ability to work effectively within interdisciplinary healthcare teams.
Preferred Qualifications

Prior experience supporting length-of-stay management and care transition initiatives.

Experience with utilization management and regulatory compliance reviews.

Familiarity with post-acute care coordination and community resource management.
