Overview
Barnes-Jewish West County Hospital offers specialized surgical and medical services in a healing environment. West County has earned The Joint Commission's Center of Excellence recognition for total hip, knee, and shoulder replacement, and U.S. News & World Report consistently ranks the hospital as high performing in knee replacement, hip replacement, colon cancer surgery, and prostate cancer surgery. BJC ACO focuses on improving patient centered health outcomes and cost savings through enhanced care coordination and disease management for Medicare patients. The Medicare Shared Savings Program (MSSP) incentivizes ACOs that reduce health care costs while maintaining high-quality care standards.
With 96 private patient rooms, 14 operating rooms, and four intensive care unit rooms, the facility was designed to provide a comforting environment that is innovative and efficient with a patient-centered experience.
Patients have access to physicians from WashU Medicine, BJC Medical Group, and private practice. The hospital provides comprehensive diagnostic and therapeutic services such as pain management, advanced radiology, a Siteman Cancer Center satellite location, sleep medicine, and therapy and rehabilitation, as well as a full range of inpatient and outpatient surgical procedures and services including bariatrics, digestive diseases, oncology, ophthalmology, orthopedics, otolaryngology, plastics, spine, and urology.

Role Purpose
The Program Manager is responsible for the development, implementation and sustainment of the overall strategic plan to the department to ensure achievement of service line objectives for growth, physician and hospital alignment and patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities

Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership.

Manages patient flow within department.

Develops and adheres to departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets. Responds to changes in the business which may affect the ability to achieve the budget goals.

Develops, implements and sustains the overall strategic plan for the department to ensure achievement of service line objectives for growth, physician and hospital alignment and patient satisfaction.

Monitors and improves the performance of the department including financial outcomes, patient, employee and physician satisfaction, clinical quality and efficiency.

Maintains knowledge of hospital and outpatient, cancer, nursing and clinical professional accreditation & certification requirements and standards, plus regulatory requirements regarding clinical licensure.

Ensures that regulatory rules and regulations are followed.
