These positions are designated as part-time with day/evening rotating shifts with weekend and holiday shifts as assigned. The work schedule will include at least 64 hours per two-week pay period and may include additional work hours based on business needs.
The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) assists practitioners and Registered Nurses in providing direct care services to incarcerated individuals. Principal responsibilities include:

Assist and support incarcerated individuals with activities of daily living to maintain optimal health and wellness.

Participate in data collection that assists in the development of individualized care plans, participate in the development and refinement of those plans, implement and carry out plans as they are documented.

Assist incarcerated individuals to maintain a clean and well kept living environment.

Assist with the daily operation of the unit to ensure medical services are met in a timely manner.
Minimum Qualifications
To be qualified for and considered for this position, applicants must meet all of the minimum qualifications listed below. - Current registration as a Nursing Assistant with the Minnesota Department of Health (MDH) Nursing Aide Registry.
Preferred Qualifications
The following qualifications are strongly desired of applicants seeking consideration for this position:

Experience assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs).
-
Experience working in a correctional or secured setting.
-
Experience working in a long-term care environment.
-
Experience in specialized clinical area(s), such as in gender-specific, geriatric, juvenile health care, medical/surgery unit, and/or behavioral health.
Physical Requirements
The completion of pre-placement physical components may be required for this position. These components consist of a tuberculosis screening and/or respirator clearance. Additional Requirements
The selection process may include screening the top candidate(s) on their criminal history, predatory offender registration, offender associations and/or other applicable background information in accordance with Department of Corrections' policy. Top candidate(s) must pass a criminal history check which includes successful completion of all sentencing and/or restitution requirements of law enforcement jurisdictions, including probation.
Employment history/reference checks, including incidents of sexual harassment, will also be conducted on the top candidate(s) in accordance with Department of Corrections' policy. This may include a review of job performance and discipline records.
New employees will be fingerprinted within the first 30 days of employment.
