Banner University Medical Group is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join a highly collaborative, outpatient-focused team supporting the Banner Alzheimers Institute in Tucson.
Banner Alzheimers Institute is an internationally recognized leader in the diagnosis, treatment, and research of Alzheimers disease and related dementias. Established as a Center of Excellence within Banner Health, BAI is dedicated to advancing innovative care models, supporting patients and families, and contributing to groundbreaking clinical research and prevention initiatives.
This position will primarily support the outpatient memory care program, providing comprehensive evaluation and longitudinal management of patients with cognitive and neurodegenerative conditions, including Alzheimers disease, mild cognitive impairment, Lewy body dementia, and other related disorders. The role is embedded within a multidisciplinary model that emphasizes individualized care, caregiver support, and access to advanced diagnostics and clinical trials.
The ideal candidate will have an interest in cognitive neurology, geriatrics, or behavioral neurology and value a patient-centered, team-based approach. Prior outpatient neurology or geriatrics experience is preferred, but candidates without direct experience are encouraged to apply, as structured onboarding and mentorship are provided.
Position Overview:
Developing and managing individualized care plans for memory disorders
Ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing (labs, imaging, cognitive testing)
Medication management and longitudinal follow-up care
Providing education and support to patients and caregivers
Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team including neurologists, neuropsychologists, and research staff
Opportunities to participate in clinical research and innovative care models

Minimum Qualifications:
Current Acute Care or Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant board certification
DEA license, BLS certification
Interest or experience in neurology, geriatrics, psychiatry, or cognitive disorders preferred
Experienced and new graduates are encouraged to apply
Preferred:
Interest in Neurology or Neuromuscular Medicine
Prior clinical experience in neurology, internal medicine, rehabilitation medicine, or related specialty
Strong communication and teamwork skills
