As part of the Inpatient Medical Oncology service , you'll collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of Advanced Practice Providers, Hospitalists, and Oncology Attendings to provide comprehensive care for patients throughout their cancer treatment journey. Working within the renowned Alvin J. Position Details:

Inpatient Medical Oncology

Schedule: Four (4) 10-hour day shifts per week (flexibility with making schedules)

No Call! No Evenings!

Weekend Rotation: Every 6th weekend

Collaborate closely with a team of experienced APPs, Hospitalists, and Oncology Attendings

Practice in a nationally recognized academic medical center and Comprehensive Cancer Center

Role Purpose
The nurse practitioner functions within their scope of practice as a healthcare provider, working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary health team to provide comprehensive care to patients and families across practice settings. They demonstrate a high degree of clinical expertise in working with patients with acute and chronic illnesses commonly encountered within the inpatient setting. The nurse practitioner demonstrates an advanced level of clinical knowledge, communication, interdisciplinary collaboration, professionalism, and systems-based practice. They work with administration staff, nurses, physicians, medical/surgical trainees, and other staff to assure safe, effective, quality patient care.Minimum Board Certification(s):BJH: Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner (AGPCNP), Adult Nurse Practitioner (ANP), or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP- with appropriate experience)Preferred Board Certification(s): BJH: Adult-Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AGACNP) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)
Responsibilities

Provides compassionate, appropriate, and effective patient and family-centered care for health recovery, illness prevention, treatment of critically ill, or end-of-life care.

Responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment, management, education, health promotion, and care coordination for patients and families with acute and chronic health needs in an academic inpatient setting.

Communicates and collaborates effectively with patients, families, physicians, medical/surgical trainees, and other health professionals.

Demonstrates the highest level of accountability for professional practice by participating in professional development, quality initiative/performance activities, and implementing standards of care within area of specialization.
