Registered Nurse (RN) - Correctional Healthcare

Position Details

Pay Rate: $53.00 per hour

Full-time contract assignment
-
Schedule: 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week (40 hours weekly)
-
Every other weekend required, holidays as needed
-
8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts may be available depending on facility needs
-
Flexibility with shift availability is a plus
-
Travel Stipend Available if more than 50+ miles from facility
Responsibilities
-
Perform health assessments, screenings, and physical examinations.
-
Assess, triage, and treat acute, chronic, and urgent medical conditions.

Provide nursing care for patients with medical and mental health needs.

Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.

Perform wound care and other nursing interventions.

Respond to medical emergencies and provide emergency nursing care.

Monitor cardiac status, manage catheters, perform venipuncture, start IVs, and provide diabetic care.

Maintain accurate documentation and collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team.

Follow all facility policies, procedures, and infection control standards.
Qualifications
-
Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.

Current, active North Carolina Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.

Minimum of one (1) year of Registered Nurse experience.

At least one (1) year of correctional nursing experience is required.

Current BLS certification
-
Current TB Test/Chest X-Ray

Strong assessment, communication, and critical thinking skills.
