Summary:
- Under general direction, provides nursing care of patients; triages patient phone calls, inquires and provides wound care. Provides guidance to medical assistants, LPN's and plans and oversees ensuring customer satisfaction and adherence to policies, procedures, standards, and regulations.- Assisting physicians and extenders (NP, PA's).- Patient assessments and monitoring.- Patient education
Responsibilities:

- Assesses, plans, implements, documents, coordinates, and manages patient care according to department and hospital standards and giving consideration to age-specific accommodations.

a. Maintain competency in utilizing available technology including, but not limited to:Next Gen or current EMR systemOtherMeditechAbility to generate clinical reports utilizing EMR system to maintain patient compliance and ensure office documents (letters, telephone contacts, lab action) have been successfully completed, closed and saved.

b. Provides patient care, which demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of normal physiology and disease pathophysiology, appropriate nursing and medical interventions and a knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the lifespan.

c. Implements patient post care based on evidence-based practice.

d. Documents patient response to treatment and effectiveness of care.

e. Collaborate with office staff (front desk, scheduling) to insure procedure protocols and patient education have been completed accurately

f. In collaboration with the providers is able to intervene as appropriate to prevent complications.

g. Implements nursing/physician orders that result in achievement of patient, nursing, and physician goals. Evaluates, revises, and improves patient care using creative strategies, current research findings, and consideration of age-specific accommodations

h. Demonstrates initiative and self-direction in completion of assigned responsibilities in accordance with department needs.

- Communicates and collaborates with patients, providers, family members, and other health care disciplines in order to achieve excellence in patient care.

a. Utilizes effective interpersonal skills including interaction with staff through understanding, talking, and hearing, seeing and listening.

b. Involves patient/significant other in all aspects of the plan of care, serving as advocate when necessary. Communicated with patients test results, instructions and respond to inquiries.

c. Consistently and continuously communicates, consults and shares pertinent information regarding changes in patient status and patient care.

d. Uses interpersonal communication techniques that show a willingness to accept and give constructive feedback for the purpose of promoting professional excellence.

e. Demonstrates leadership skills in team building and interpersonal relationships to create a cohesive and productive environment.

- Actively participates in and supports departmental and organizational quality initiatives and goals. Understands and follows office policies and procedures.

- Maintains clinical competency according to unit-specific standards and licensure guidelines.

a. Performs selected therapeutic interventions and diagnostic procedures according to department standards as ordered to include but not limited to:

¨ RN will be able to perform, as requested: ▪ Provides wound care when necessary ▪ Assists patients physically by providing physical support through pushing, pulling, lifting, reaching, turning, kneeling, standing, sitting and balancing, and psychologically by providing emotional intervention.

¨ Maintain competency in emergency procedures: ▪ Demonstrates ability to perform with clinical proficiency in crises and medical emergencies
