Summary:
**
We areseekingan experienced and compassionate lactation consultant to provide breastfeeding support forbirthingpeople and their babies throughout the prenatal and postpartum period. The lactation consultant will see patients in our obstetric offices for prenatal and postpartum visits in collaboration with our breastfeeding medicine clinicians. This position will be a per diem lactation consultant role withan anticipatedwork schedule of two days a week in the office.
Dutiesand Responsibilities:

Help birthing people prepare for breastfeeding during the prenatal period through breastfeeding education office visits and classes.

Provide breastfeeding support office visits during the postpartum period to patients and their newborns.

Educate and inform expecting parents on newborn feeding options and techniques.

Assistwith creating and following a postpartum breastfeeding plan.

Collaborate with our breastfeeding medicine clinicians during lactation office visits.

Provide support to Nuvance Health staffregardingbreastfeeding questions via our on-call lactation line.

Makeappropriate referralsto community resources and other professionals.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Active registered nurse license
-
IBCLC certification, or active certified lactation consultant (CRC) with interest in obtainingtheir IBCLC within 2 years of hire. Certification within 2 years of hire is required.

Must be eligible to be credentialed with Medicaid/Medicare

Basic computer literacy

Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

Able to work effectively with clients and other professionals.

Preferred Skills:

Salary: $41.00 - $76.16 per hour, relative to experience.
