Located in the state-of-the-art, eco-friendly Advanced Health Sciences Pavilion is the Anesthesia Pre-Procedure Evaluation Center (APEC). APEC is part of the Operating Room/Anesthesia/Surgery Services and offers a convenient location for patients' pre-procedure needs. Services include phlebotomy, electrocardiograms (EKGs), pre-procedure health screening by nurses with special expertise in surgery and anesthesia and an assessment for high-risk patients by an anesthesiologist.

Experience
- 1 year For external hires, acute care experience in their specialty for new hires. Promotion to Clinical Nurse II is automatic after completion of one (1) year of clinical experience and a satisfactory performance appraisal at a Clinical Nurse I level. - minimum
Licenses and Certifications

RN State License - Upon Hire minimum California State RN License

Basic Life Support (BLS) - Upon Hire minimum BLS Certification. As required by your specialty unit.

Other - See Department Specifics - 1 Year minimum Other Competencies, as required by your specialty unit (ex. ACLS, PALS, fetal heart monitoring)

ANCC Specialty Certification - preferred Any ANCC Specialty Certification strongly recommended after 2 years in specialty
