Here, we strive for patient-centered care and comfort with our collaborative team of healthcare professionals. We are committed to serving the community and treating our patients as family.
Akron General's 6400 Behavioral Health Unit has a mixed patient population, with some seeking psychiatric support and others medical assistance. This department specializes in behavioral health crises, and while we occasionally handle medical issues, patients are medically cleared prior to admission to the unit. As a Patient Care Nursing Assistant (PCNA) on this team, you have the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of patients who are struggling with mental health challenges. Your compassion and understanding can help reduce crisis interventions, enhance communication and create a welcoming, inclusive environment where every patient feels supported. While contributing to community well-being, you can also utilize the wealth of educational and professional development resources offered by Cleveland Clinic to learn new skills and find your place within the institution.
