Schedule: Full-time position working four 9-hour shifts per week on a rotating schedule. Hours are primarily daylight (7:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., 8:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., and 9:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.), with occasional evening shifts (3:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.), on-call responsibilities, and rotating weekend coverage.

Minimum 3 years of RN experience required for Sr. II level; BSN preferred.

Completion of annual contribution requirements as outlined in UPMC's My Nursing Career Ladder.

UPMC-approved nursing certification required within 1 year of hire or promotion and must be maintained.

Certification requirement may be waived for candidates with a Master's degree in Nursing or a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
-
If a BSN is held, a Master's degree in a related field may be substituted for the certification requirement.

Demonstrated ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care across the age groups served by the department.

Knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan and the ability to provide age-appropriate care.

Must achieve and maintain a Solid/Strong/Good or higher performance evaluation rating.

Strong relationship-building skills with patients, families, physicians, advanced practice providers, leadership, and interdisciplinary team members.

Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances

Current Pennsylvania RN license or an eligible multistate Nursing Licensure Compact (NLC) license.

Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification.

Certified Pediatric Nurse (CPN) certification.

Act 33 Child Abuse Clearance.

Act 34 Criminal Background Clearance.

Act 73 FBI Clearance.
