Job Description
We are currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) for our Wellness Center in Jackson Heights, NY, with a strong focus on sexual health, including STI testing, treatment, prevention, and PrEP care.
Position Overview:
This role is based in an outpatient wellness setting focused on HIV/STI prevention, testing, treatment, patient education, and ongoing preventive care services. The Nurse Practitioner (NP) plays a critical role in supporting accessible, high-quality healthcare by delivering compassionate, patient-centered care in a collaborative environment.
The NP is responsible for conducting comprehensive patient assessments, diagnosing and treating sexually transmitted infections (STIs), reviewing and interpreting laboratory results, and developing individualized care plans for both new and returning patients. This position also includes initiating and managing HIV prevention services, including PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) and PEP (Post-Exposure Prophylaxis), providing risk-reduction counseling, and educating patients on preventive health practices.
As a key clinical resource within the Wellness Center, the NP ensures timely and effective patient care while maintaining accurate documentation and treatment plans. The role requires a strong commitment to patient advocacy, clinical excellence, and creating a welcoming environment for all patients, including walk-ins.
Success in this position requires strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven setting. The NP collaborates closely with physicians, clinical staff, and organizational leadership to support rapid diagnosis, immediate linkage to care, reduced wait times, and continuity of services. Through compassionate care and preventive health initiatives, the Nurse Practitioner directly contributes to the organization's mission of improving health outcomes and preventing the spread of HIV and other STIs.

Active New York Nurse Practitioner (NP) license

Bilingual in English and Spanish

Experience in sexual health, including HIV/STI testing, prevention, and treatment

Ability to diagnose, treat, and manage patients in an outpatient setting

Strong patient education, counseling, and communication skills

Experience with EMR documentation and care plan management - Experience managing PrEP and PEP programs

Background in HIV/AIDS, LGBTQ+ health, or community health clinics

Familiarity with CDC guidelines for HIV/STI prevention and treatment

Experience providing risk-reduction counseling and preventive care services

AAHIVM certification or other HIV-focused credentials
